Shipping News: Red Sea Recovery Underway

Transit times are normalising on Asia–Europe. Here's what to expect on rates.

Suez transits have recovered to roughly 78 percent of pre-disruption volumes, cutting Asia–North Europe transit times by nine to twelve days versus the Cape routing.

The capacity that was absorbed by the longer route is now returning to the market, and spot rates have softened accordingly on most headhaul lanes.

Our advice: index long-term contracts rather than locking a flat rate for twelve months, and keep an alternative routing priced and ready.
